SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT: CAS is delighted to welcome Professor Ian Ritchie CBE, FRSE, CEng, FREng, and FBCS on board as our new Chairman. Ian has been instrumental in starting up a number of high tech companies and is one of the original CAS shareholders.

He is a Board member of Scottish Enterprise, Channel 4 Television, and EPIC Group plc, and is a member of the Advisory Board of the Pentech venture capital fund.

Ian is a past-President of the British Computer Society, he serves as a member of the Scottish Higher Education Funding Council, and is an Honorary Professor at Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh. He is a trustee of the National Museum of Scotland and of the Bletchley Park Trust.

December: CAS has received a contract to add mapping data to the SPICCCS system at RAF Spadeadam. This latest enhancement will assist Spadeadam staff in ensuring tactical realism for aircrew using the range. A further request has been received to assist staff in extracting schedule information thereby ensuring that Spadeadam assets are better utilised.

November: Another fantastic month for CAS which started with a finalised contract with the USAF for support services at the Polygone Electronic Warfare Range in Germany and ended with agreement by the Scottish Commissioner for Children and Young People (SCCYP) to implement our successful Complaints Handling Administration System (CHAS). Also, during this month, the Office of the Scottish Information Commissioner (OSIC) renewed their support and maintenance agreement with us.

October: CAS also received a contract for additional work on their RAPID system in use by the Computer Users Information Services (CUIS)

October: CAS were delighted to receive a contract for the installation of their Complaints and Case handling system (CHAS) for Waterwatch (the Scottish water industry consumer watchdog).

September: CAS has received a number of new contracts from the USAF at Polygone in Germany. The main part is for the development and installation of an EPICCCS console at the Spangdahlem Air Base. This console will allow Spangdahlem personnel to view Polygone missions in real-time and to transmit this data to participating aircrew.

September: CAS staff enjoyed an early Oktoberfest this year courtesy of Scott Frater who is returning to Scotland after spending the last 5 years in Germany. Scott and Gail chose to mark their return by hosting this excellent event.

September: CAS have been requested, by the Scottish Borders Council, to write the requirements for a Throughcare system to integrate with their existing Criminal Justice Social Work System.

August: A great start to our new financial year with the news that the MoD have awarded CAS a 3 year contract, with 2 year extension option, for the Support and Maintenance of SPICCCS Command and Control system at RAF Spadeadam. This is fantastic news for the company.
Also this month we received a contract for the support of the Nurse and Midwife training Administration System by Bell College.

August: Congratulations to Scott Frater who took part in the 2005 Pipefest in Edinburgh on the 21st of this month. Scott raised £713 for Marie Curie Cancer Care by participating in this huge event. Well done Scott.

July: Congratulations to Stuart Marshall who successfully completed his Tour of the Cairngorms. He completed this challenging 130 mile mountain bike route in just 3 days. Well done Stuart.

June: This month CAS have received contracts for consultancy, support and development services from the Scottish Commissioner for Children and Young People (SCCYP), the Scottish Borders Council (SBC) and the Scottish Pharmaceutical General Council (SPGC).

June: Congratulations to CAS Managing Director (Dave Wells) who, on 18th June, successfully completing the Edinburgh Century Challenge by cycling 100 miles through the Scottish Highlands.

May: Another successful month with the placement of a support contract from the Computer Users Information Service (CUIS) and for the introduction of the CAS Gunfire Noise Analysis Tool (GNAT) at the MoD live firing range at Castlemartin.

April: CAS were delighted to receive a support contract for the Nurse and Midwife administration system at Buckingham and Chilterns University.

April: Senior Aircraftsman Karl Stott from the UK Support Unit at Ramstein in Germany, presents a cheque, on CAS's behalf, to the Cozmesti Institute, in Romania. The institute cares for mentally handicapped children between the ages of 6-18, who have either been abandoned by their parents or are orphans. Some of the children are of normal IQ, but have severe behavioural problems and most of them self-harm. The institute's resources are very basic and it receives minimal funding from the Romanian government. Karl recently made the trip to Romania to deliver a lorry load of toys which had been donated by the RAF at Ramstein and was kind enough to deliver our cheque.

March: CAS Resident Maintenance Engineer, Scott Frater, received a superbly detailed model of an SA-6 (Gainful) Surface to Air Missile System from Phil Adams. This model won 2nd Prize in the modified armour class at the IPMS Championships at Antwerp and, following on from this success, Phil kindly donated the award winning model to CAS. The presentation was made at the UK Support Unit at Ramstein in Germany.

March: CAS have received a contract to install a GSM link to the RAF Spadeadam threat equipments. This latest development will allow greater mobility of the Threat thereby enhancing the effectiveness of the training.

February: CAS were delighted to receive a contract from the Commission for Local Authorities in England. This contract helps establish CAS as one of the UK experts on Complaints Handling.

February: CAS hosted over 120 people at our Burns Supper in Germany this month. The event was attended by people from the United States, Germany, France and the UK. A great time was had by all and a party of CAS, RAF and FAF went on to attend the Scotland-France Rugby match in Paris.
An article on the event appeared in the Kaiserslautern American newspaper.

February: CAS are delighted to welcome James Mackie to our growing team of developers. James has a BA in Business Studies and Economics from Stirling University and an MSc. in Information Technology from the University of Liverpool.

January: To assist in all of this additional work CAS are delighted to welcome Marc Forrest on board as an additional Support Analyst.

January: To round off the old year, and start the new one on a high note, CAS have been awarded a significant number of projects to be undertaken at RAF Spadeadam. These include; the automated production of range statistics, the inclusion of a Threat Advisor for the EWTC, the addition of a further Range Controllers position, integration of Mallina UV stimulator, an enhancement to the EGPMR to allow real-time fly-through of completed missions and a remote camera feasibility study.
